Kevin Churchill

Independent Professional Mediator | Business Advisor | Executive Coach

Kevin is an independent professional mediator who is both CEDR (Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution) and CMC (Civil Mediation Council) accredited and has undertaken more than seventy-five mediation and conflict coaching cases.  Kevin mediates a wide range of workplace and commercial disputes for public authorities, universities, schools, local businesses and private individuals.  He also mediates in neighbour and community disputes.

Kevin says that being a mediator is a passion and a privilege.  Each day he gets to work with people in Kingston, Oxford and the Thames Valley and around the world, to help them better manage and resolve disagreements and disputes so they can get back to focusing on what’s important to them, whether that be their family, community, colleagues or their business.  Kevin’s goal is to help people improve their current workplace, commercial and community relationships and help them reach resolution and implement solutions that last.

On a voluntary basis Kevin is a Trustee of Mediation Buckinghamshire and regularly mediates and coaches in community and neighbour disputes.  He is also a Trustee and volunteer-facilitator for ‘Alternatives to Violence Project - Britain’ (AVP), delivering weekly workshops for individuals close to or involved with the UK criminal and civil justice systems.

Kevin’s career experience is in leading and managing organisations and teams in the UK and East Africa.  His career began in banking over two decades ago with the Lloyds Banking Group, followed by the Local Authority sector in London and Oxford and thereafter in international consultancy and international development, most recently as a Director in an international development organisation in Nairobi, Kenya.  Kevin has an MBA from Imperial College and an MSc from the London School of Economics.

Kevin describes his mediation style as thoughtful, respectful and undertaken with care.  He adopts a calm conversational approach, providing parties with the time and space to speak, listen, think and reflect upon what is being said, to find a way through.   He accepts requests to mediate from local authorities, universities, schools, local businesses and private individuals.  He also provides executive coaching and training for individuals and/or groups in conflict resolution, negotiation, mediation and dispute management.

Kevin lives and works internationally between Kingston, Oxford, Kenya and South Africa.
